Welcome to Billesdon Therapies in rural Leicestershire - complementary therapies supporting better health, relaxation, restoration and renewal.

Welcome to Billesdon Therapies!

I am a qualified and insured reflexologist, sound and massage therapist. I work from a rural practice in east Leicestershire lying equidistant between Leicester and the market towns of Uppingham, Oakham, Market Harborough and Melton Mowbray.

Whether you are looking for support for an existing health condition, managing stress or anxiety or would like to focus on self care, I aim to help restore balance through tailored treatments. This in turn can bring benefits such as increased energy and headspace to focus on areas of importance such as health and improved quality of life.

To book an appointment please contact me directly or book via my online appointment system.

I am a full member of the Association of Reflexologists.

What is Reflexology?

Reflexology is a deeply relaxing, non-invasive complementary health therapy that works by stimulating the seven thousand nerve endings found in the feet. Treatments can also be given on the face or hands or a combination of these. A typical treatment will take one hour during which each reflex will be worked and rebalanced, clearing blockages, stimulating and relaxing where needed.

Relaxation & Health

Reflexology can be effective in promoting deep relaxation and wellbeing by reducing stress in people’s lives and can be key in optimising good health and building resilience. Reflexology is a complementary therapy that can be used safely alongside conventional healthcare.

Sound Therapy

Sound therapy is an immersive experience that uses traditional instruments such as gongs, Tibetan singing bowls, crystal bowls, drum, flute and tuning forks. These different tools generate different frequencies that in turn entrain the body in different ways to help shift thinking patterns, reduce anxiety and pain and optimise the body’s healing state. It is not suitable for people with pacemakers or implanted metal devices.

Restorative Massage

Restorative massage uses a yogic technique that works on 12 nerve rich points (plexus) on the body which are massaged in a particular sequence. These points when stimulated activate the sympathetic nervous system and the recipient enters a deep state of relaxation. The recipient is fully clothed throughout therefore loose clothing is required.

frequently asked questions...

How many treatments will I need?

Everyone is different and the response to reflexology can be immediate or sometimes take longer than one treatment, but often benefits can be seen after 3-4 sessions. Regular treatments are best to support the body properly beginning the self-healing process. Following an initial consultation I will suggest a treatment plan.

What happens in a treatment?

Reflexology is performed entirely on the feet, hands or face. The most you’ll have to do is take off your socks (or gloves) and roll up your trousers! During the treatment the client lies on their back on a reclining couch, supported by pillows and covered with a blanket to keep warm.

And don’t worry – reflexology doesn’t tickle! Many clients come to me with ticklish feet or worried about their feet being touched, but quickly find they relax and enjoy the benefits of reflexology.

Does reflexology hurt?

You might find some areas feel sensitive , but reflexology does not involve hard pressing in the way something like a sports massage might. As a therapist I will be aware of the status of your feet, noticing how they feel, the temperature and colour. All these things play a part in understanding which areas of your body – as reflected through your feet – require more care and attention.

Can you diagnose?

Reflexologists cannot diagnose or cure, but during a treatment we receive ‘feedback’ from reflexes which indicate which parts of the body are out of balance. Sometimes reflexology will highlight a specific area which may be struggling or working hard to maintain your wellbeing; if a particular reflex point indicates this I can discuss with you at the end of the session.

What are your fees & availability?

A treatment usually last 60 minutes and prices start at £48.

Please note that if you need to cancel an appointment I require 48 hours' notice; otherwise you will still need to pay for any sessions missed. I accept payment by card, or cash.

Can I continue to receive reflexology?

After an initial course of treatments many people choose to continue to return regularly to maintain their general wellbeing and manage stress. Some come weekly others monthly and others as and when needed.
